32. Do not be in the business of selling shipping

If your great idea of an eBay business is to profit from the shipping charge that you pass to your customers, think again. eBay bidders and buyers are well aware of the old fashion trick of sellers trying to profit more on shipping cost. In fact, overpricing on shipping is the number one way of getting negative feedback for a transaction.

Another reason to avoid such a scheme is because it might cross the border of eBay’s policy on fee avoidance. This is done by selling an item that is valued at $10 for just $2 and charging customers with a shipping cost of more than $10 clearly gaining from the latter. If the system finds out this is what you are doing to an auction, your auction will get cancelled and that’s to say the least.
